When the price of tea was decreased by Rs.10 per kg, 4 more kg can be bought for the same amount of Rs.240. Find the original price of tea (in Rs./kg)

originally total quantity of tea=240/ x kg

(x - 10) ×{(240/x)+ 4) } = 240

(x - 10){240 + 4x) = 240x

240x + 4x^2 - 2400 - 40x = 240x

4x^2 - 40x - 2400 = 0

x^2 -10x- 600 =0 => x = 30 , -20

price can't be taken as -ve so neglect-20

original price of tea/kg = Rs 30
