when the tax decreased from 9% of x to 6% of x .

decrease in tax = 9 % of x - 6 % of x

= 3% of x

money saved = 3% of x = Rs 780

__________________________

since , 3 % of x = 780

then , 100 % of x = ?

100 % of x = 100 × 780 / 3

= 78000 / 3 = Rs 26 ,000

therefore , list price of colour tv

= Rs 26, 000
