The Second Continental Congress took place in May 1775. On June 1776, a committee was assembled to draft the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson did most of the writing of the Declaration. On July, delegates reviewed and made changes to the first draft of the document. Once it had been changed, Congress voted to approve the wording of the Declaration.
