Answer:

The entropy will be maximum

Explanation:

As the temperature of both the bodies have became same so there is no chance of heat to be transferred from one body to the other .So at this time the entropy becomes maximum.

if the temp of the source and sink of a heat engine becomes equal, then the entropy is maximized.

Given: temperature of source = temperature of sink ie T_{2} = T_{1}

To find: change in entropy

Solution:

A heat engine or Carnot engine converts heat into work, through a source as a heat reservoir to sink which is a cold reservoir.

The efficiency of the Carnot engine depends only on the temperature of the source and sink and is independent of all the other factors.

If the efficiency of a heat engine is 100% it means all heat has been fully converted to work.

η= Work ÷ heat

η= 1- Q_{1}÷ Q_{2}

η= 1-T_{2}÷T_{1}

if  T_{2} = T_{1}, η = 0

As the efficiency is 0, entropy get maximized. as the total entropy should be conserved, this will generate the heat engine entropy.

As the temp of the source and sink of a heat engine becomes equal, efficiency becomes 0, and entropy becomes maximum.
