The specific charge decreases when velocity of relativistic charged particle increases

  • The mass of the particle is given by m = m₀ / √(1-v²/c²)
  • Specific charge is given by the ration of charge of the object to the mass of the object
  • specific charge =  q/m = (q/m₀)√(1-v²/c²)
  • From the above equation as v increases the value of specific charge decreases
