When the velocity of an object changes we say that the object is accelerating. The change in the velocity could be due change in its magnitude or the direction of the motion or both. When an object moves on a circular path with constant speed, its motion will be uniform circular motion. 19(i). What is acceleration? 19(ii). How can you change acceleration? 19(iii). In uniform circular motion what remains constant, velocity or speed? 19(iv). What is the difference between speed and velocity? 19(v). In uniform circular motion what will be the path of the object?

Answer:

1 acceleration is change in velocity per unit time

2 we can change acceleration by changing it's velocity or by applying external agent force

3 speed remains constant

4 speed has magnitude only while velocity has both magnitude and direction

5in uniform circular motion path of the object is circular
