When there is an unpleasant smell in the room, what can you do to get rid of it? Explain why this works, in terms of particle theory.

Any sort of smell wether it is good or bad,it is just a particular bunch of particles which is moving through the surrounding's atmospheric air.
To remove those bad smell generating air particles,we can do two things.
1)We can fill the atmospheric air with another good smell producing particles.(simply use room freshener)
2)We can open the windows or ventilators ,to make the exit way for the bad smell producing particles.
"In order to avoid unpleasant smell, we have to spray some good deodorants in the rooms. The science behind this is “law of diffusion”. Gas particles are free to move in the air. The main force behind diffusion is the “differences in the concentration of the gases”. When we spray a perfume, it mixes with the air particles and moves from the area of higher concentration area to the lower concentration area until it is evenly distributed in the room. This process of spreading continues until the concentration of deodorant particles is equal throughout the room."
