The bronchioles lack hyaline cartilage, which surround the bronchi and keeps them from collapsing.The bronchioles different units of the lungs, or pulmonary lobules. The bronchioles continue dividing into smaller terminal bronchioles, which divide into the smallest respiratory bronchioles.
