The reason is I'm giving now: Excess amount of carbon dioxide is harmful for the environment. Some amount of carbon dioxide are absorbed by the water of the ocean but it is extremely less. Rest is balanced by the plant because they do photosynthesis and maintain the co2 level in the atmosphere.
