When three or more numbers are multiplied, the product is the same regardless of the order of the multiplicand : The property is Associative property under multiplication

Given : Three or more numbers are multiplied, the product is the same regardless of the order of the multiplicand

To find : State the property

Solution :

Associative property under multiplication states that for three Real Numbers a , b , c

a × ( b × c ) = ( a × b ) × c

For example take three Real Numbers ,

a = 1 , b = 2 , c = 3

1 × ( 2 × 3 ) = ( 1 × 2 ) × 3 [ Because LHS = RHS = 6 ]

So the property three or more numbers are multiplied, the product is the same regardless of the order of the multiplicand is called Associative property under multiplication
