let the first number be x

and secound no. Y

according to the problem,

3x +5y=169

5x+3y=159

multiply the equation 1 with 5 and equation with 3 then we get

15x+25y=845

15x+9y=477

do substraction

16y=368

y=23

substitute y=23 in eq 3

15(x)+25(23)=845

15x=845-575

x=279/15

x=18

x=18 and y=23 these are the values of x and y
