When Tina lived in Russia, one of the coldest outside temperatures she experienced was −45°C. The coldest temperature she experienced in the United States (in Maryland) was +3°F. What is the difference in the two temperatures on the Fahrenheit scale? What is the difference on the Kelvin scale?
(52°F and 284.26K)

I think that you have made mistake in posting the correct answer for Kelvin scale.

-45°C in farenheit is given by

9/5x(-45)+32 = -49°F

So the difference is

-49 - 3 = -52°F

In K scale

-45°C is 228K

3°F is -16°C which is 257K

So the difference in K scale will be 31 K.

I hope this helps you.

Incase you still have doubt feel free to ask.
