When to add a functional group in the parent chain and when should we exclude the functional group from parent chain?​

in parent chain functional group must be included except in 1 case where there 3 or more branching and all the three branched functional group should be same. in cyclic compounds where only carbon containing functional group is used as branch, it is neglected but where there are even only 2 carbon and a functional group is there then the functional group must be counted
