when two bodies are rubbed together, how do we know that which body transfers electrons and which body gain electrons. how is this checked?

If two bodies are rubbed together the electron gained substance obtains negative charge which can attract positive charge.If a body obtains negative charge put that body near to another negative charged body both repel each other. so we can conclude that both substances are negatively charged.
