When two bodies move uniformly towards each other,the distance between them decreases by 6 metres/second.if both the bodies move in the same direction with their same speeds,the distance between them increases by 4 metres/second.what are the speeds of the two bodies?

solution:

Let, speed of body be x & y

Then, relative speed when both moving in different direction. & same direction

ATQ,
x-y = 6......(1)
x+y = 4 .....(2)

Solving (1)&(2), we get ;
x = 5 & y = -1

Thus, speed of body is 5m/s & 1m/s
[speed can't be -ve]
