When two magnets are placed inside each other's magnetic fields, the like poles repel and the unlike poles attract.
The earth acts like a giant magnet. Any free bar magnet on Earth aligns itself in such a way that its North pole points as shown in the figure. Where is the North pole of giant magnet Earth?
