they become electrically charged because there takes a transfer of charge because friction takes place  beween the  atoms

DiyanaN: if so explanation pls
DiyanaN: it transfer energy means wud ther b any change in valency?
Anonymous: So when we rub two objects then there is transfer of electrons from one body to another body and the body which loses electron, that becomes positively charged and the body which gains electrons that becomes negatively charged.
Transfer of electrons occurs because heat is generated due to rubbing and that heat energy is used by electrons to travel from one body to another.
Got it?
