when two plane mirrors are kept parallel to each other an infinite number of images can be seen. why do these images get fainter as their distance from the mirror increases?

because mirrors shows the same images of the object and its surrondings , they show images as we can see , in a plane mirror if object is far from it , it will give a small image of it and if the object is near to the mirror then it will give the bigger image of the object.

Infinite number of images are formed when two plane mirrors are placed in front of each other.Each image is fainter than the previous one as some light is lost in the process of reflection. Thus the images become fainter and fainter as their distance from the mirror increases.
