when two resistor R1 and R2 connected in parallel the net resistance is 3 ohm
when connected is series it is 16 ohm find R1ANDR2

Series: R1+R2=16 , R2=16-R1 
Parallel: (R1*R2)/(R1+R2)=3 
R1*R2/16= 3 
R1*R2= 48 
R1(16-R1)= 48 
16R1-R1^2= 48 
R1^2-16R1+48= 0 
(R1-4)(R1-12)= 0 
R1=4 ,R1=12 
R1= 4[Ω] , R2= 12[Ω] 
or 
R1= 12[Ω] , R2= 4[Ω]
