when two resistors of resistance R1 and R2 are connected in parallel ,the net resistance is 4ohm .when connected in series ,its value is 180 .calculate the value of R1 and R2​

Answer:

The question is actually wrong the effective combination of parallel is 40 ohms but you have given 4 ohms

If we take 40 as resistance in parallel then we are getting the answer.

R1 = 120 and R 2 = 60

R1 +R2 = 120 + 60 = 180

R1 x R2 / R1+ R2 = 120 x 60/ 120 + 60 = 7200 / 180 = 40 ohms
