when two resistors R1 and R2 are connected in parallel the net resistance is 3 ohm. when connected in series its value is 16 ohm. calculate the values of R1 and R2​

Explanation:

R1+R2=16(as they are connected in series)

R1=16-R2. (1)eq

1/R1 +1/R2=1/3 (as they are connected in parallel)

from eq(1)..

1/16-R2 +1/R2=1/3...(2)eq

simplifying eq(2)..you will get:

R2square -16R2+48

factorise it you will get the above mentioned answes
