To Find :  probability of obtaining not more than 3 heads

Solution:

two unbiased coins are tossed

Each coin has two out comes  Head & Tail

Two coins are Tossed

Hence total possible outcomes = 2 x 2  = 4  

n(S) = 4

HH , HT , TH , TT

E = obtaining not more than 3 heads

= obtaining 3 or less than 3 Heads

= 0 Head + 1 Head + 2 Head + 3 Head

0 Head  =   1   ( TT)

1  Head  =  2   ( HT , TH)

2 Head  = 1  ( HH)

3 Head  = 0

=> n(E)  =  1 + 2 + 1 + 0 = 4

Probability ( E)  = n(E)/n(S)

= 4/4

= 1

probability of obtaining not more than 3 heads = 1
