When two unknown resistances are connected in series and in parallel,their equivalent resistances are 9 ohm & 2 ohm respectively.What are the two unknown resistances?

From the Given question, I can easily depict that:

WHEN RESISTORS CONNECTED IN SERIES:

R1 + R2 = 9     ------------------------eq(1)

WHEN RESISTORS CONNECTED IN PARALLEL:

1/R1 + 1/R2 = 2

                 OR

(R1R2)/(R1+R2) = 2  ---------------------eq(2)
