When two very different communities are forced to interact, how do people within them relate? Do they become more different or more alike? What might lead to on outcome or others?

I think even when two people normally of very different characters interact with each other , at first , they might show the most outstanding characteristics of themselves , and then be curious to know the other person's too . With time if these two people meet again and again they will show more interest towards each other as both are very different and even though they're goals are different they will show more curiosity in each other than they would show in any other person . In the end they would turn out to adapt the quality or qualities of each other while still being different in their own way .
.
this is what I think would happen . ( Experience)
