The French Revolution was started in the year 1789. At that time the king of France was Louis XVI, he ascended the throne of France in the year 1774. At that time the French society wa divided into 3 estates : -
1st estate - Clergy ( priest ) - priviliged
2nd estate - Nobility ( nobles ) - privileged
3rd estate - Common people ( small peasants, businessman etc ) - not privileged.
The 3rd estate opposed the Old Regiem ( the society of France ) and led a historic revolution against Louis XVI.
