Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was born on May 28, 1883 at village of Bhagpur which is near to Nashik.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is known as Swatantryaveer because he has done a lot of things for India to gain its freedom. He was an Indian politician, writer and lawyer. He found Mitramela or Abhinav Bharat society and Free India society. He had 3 siblings namely, Ganesh, Narayan and a girl sister, Maina. He gained the title of Veer (brave heart) at the age of 12, when he fought, with his friends, with Muslims who had attacked their village. He died at the age of 82 on May 28 1966 at Mumbai due to fast unto death.
