Given: When water freezes to ice its volume increases by 10%.

To find: If ice melts into water how much will it decrease in volume.

Solution:

  • Now we have given volume increases by 10%.
  • So let the volume of water be 100 ml.
  • Then after freezing the water it becomes 110 ml according to the question.
  • Now when its melted again it will be 100 ml.
  • So when decreasing :

            (110–100) = 10 ml

  • So  therefore, the decreasing percentage will be:

            = (10 / 110) x 100

             = 1000/110

             = 100 / 11 %

            = 9.09 %

Answer:

If ice melts into water 9.09 % will it decrease in volume.

Answer:

9.09percent

Step-by-step explanation:

When that 110units of ice melts again then it'll occupy 100units again. Then the decrease in percentage is. (10/110)*100= 9.09091percent.
