Hi !

ANSWER -> (a)the mixture becomes hot

When water is added to some quick lime in a beaker the mixture becomes hot.

This is because , this reaction is exothermic in nature(releases heat).

Quick lime->  CaO

Water -> H
₂O

CaO + H₂O ------> Ca(OH)₂

Ca(OH)₂ = slaked lime ( limestone)
