When we add an functional group in hydrocarbon compound will the compound can be called organic compound?

Like - Methane transform to methnol
Will methnol be called a organic compound?

In organic chemistry, a hydrocarbon is an organic compound consisting entirely of hydrogen and carbon. Hydrocarbons are examples of group 14 hydrides. so no, it can not be called an organic compound.

But yes when Methane transform to methnol then methnol be called a organic compound.
