When we can only plot equations on the graph the why do we say that we are plotting a polynomial?​

we will write this only when we are dealing with polynomial equations

Polynomial equations:

are a kind of algebraic equations having variables and coefficient and some power of variables.

degree of polynomial is the highest power of equation

polynomial of degree 1 Linear equation:

ax+b=0

polynomial of degree 2 Quadratic equation:

ax^2 + bx +c =0

polynomial of degree 3 Cubic equation:

ax^3 + bx^2 +cx +d =0

polynomial of degree n General Form:

anx^n + a(n-1)x^(n-1) +.....+ a2x^2 + a1x +a0 =0

as n is unkown so number of terms is also unkown thats why we can't name the coefficient as alphabets so we differentiate them with a1, a2,.. an, while a0 is constant.
