when we dissolve copper oxide in Hydrogen Chloride why blue colour solution is formed?

When HCl reacts with copper oxide, a blue green solution of copper (II) chloride is formed. This is a double replacement reaction. The soluble Copper(II)Chloride is blue-green in color and is responsible for the color of the solution formed.
