When we don’t change the tense in the reported speech?

if reported verb is in present tense,we don't need to change it....

Answer: If a reporting verb is in present tense, we don't need to change the tense. We just put 'he says' and then the sentence. We don't need to change the present tense into the past if the information in the direct speech is still true(but this is only for things which are general facts, and even then we usually like to change the tense.)

Example:- 1)He likes ice-cream.

Reported speech:- He says that he likes ice-cream.

2)Direct speech:- The sun is round.

Reported speech:- She said that the sun is round.
