When we drag a box by applying a force which makes an angle (theta) the vertical component does not do work. Why?

The body does not undergo displacement in the direction of vertical component of force.

Thus displacement in the direction of vertical component = 0

work done = Force x displacement = 0

Hence vertical component does do any work on body.
