we use velocity or speed formula when the questions ask us about

Speed-:
1.speed
2distance
3.time
while using speed formula any two of them must be provided.

Velocity-
1.Displacement
2.time
3.velocity
in this also any two must be provided.

we mainly use them for this..

look they both are different term one is vector while the other is scalar ... so you have to use the formulas of speed for the calculation of distance coz they both are scalar quantity ... while to find displacement you should use velocity formula
