Question :-

When we heat ice at -10 degree celsius its temperature starts raising .When it reaches 0 degrees celsius it stops even we continue heating . What happens to that supplied heat ?What do you call that heat.

Answer :-

The change of state , the heat energy supplied to the substance is absorbed by the particles to overcome the force of attraction between them and they start moving freely by changing its state. since all the heat energy is used to change state no rise in temperature is seen. when ice turns to water the temperature starts rising again.
