when someone jumps out of a boat, the boat moves backwards. this happens because the person presses the boat with his foot backwards. the action force is when the man pushes the boat backward and the reaction force is when the boat pushes the man forward and he is able to reach the shore. as the boat isis floating on water and its position is not fixed, it moves backward due to action force exerted by man.
