when we mix iron filings with Sulphur and grind it a physical change take place. however if we heat the mixture, a chemical change takes place. explain why the former is said to be a physical change while the latter process is said to be a chemical change.

The main difference in both is that in physical change no new substance is formed.....

but with chemical changes new substance are formed....


it means when we mix iron filling with sulphur then no new substance formed....

but if we heat the mixxx new substance formed easily...

In the first case only physical breakdown takes place whereas when we heat them they form a new compound ferrous sulphate
