When we move a sheet of paper in air, we find it easier to move the sheet along its edge than across its full face. Why?

When the sheet is moved along its edge, the frictional resistance due to air is much less than what it is when the sheet is moved across its full face. It thus becomes easier for us to move the sheet along the edge.
