a) The tube keeps on getting segregated and it becomes thinner and thinner as it goes further, so the air also is partitioned by this in to small parts .

b) It is a large, dome-shaped muscle that contracts rhythmically and continually, and most of the time, involuntarily. Upon inhalation, the diaphragm contracts and flattens and the chest cavity enlarges.
