The energy u spent is changed into thermal energy. In simple HEAT. Even though the object fails to move the energy u spent by breaking ATP bonds in ur muscle the heat is generated and is escaped into atmosphere in the form of sweat.

dU = dQ + dW

since the object fails to move the work done is also 0. So it is clear that there is a change in internal energy which is equal to change in heat energy.
