WHEN WE PUT AN ICE CUBE IN WATER, WHY IS IT HALF IN THE WATER AND HALF OUT OF THE WATER?

when we put an ice cube in water, it is half in the water and half out of the water because ice is lighter than water. so, it floats on water.
