when we put sugar in a cylindrical container it acquired the shape of a cylinder, when we put sugar in a cubical container the sugar acquires the shape of a cube. Then how can you say that sugar is a solid?

because it is made up of small solid particles if you put sugar particle in any container it will not change it's shape unless and until you will heat and melt that Particle
