when we rub our hands against each other the get warm ... why does this happen and what is the role of power , energy and work here?

It's similar to how when metal scraps against itself, it creates sparks which could then set something on fire because of how hot the spark could be depending on what type of metal they are, when two rough surfaces rub against each other, they create heat, it builds up energy to go towards the air to make it warm, it does take energy to do it because it's not something you can do with ease without working up your muscles.
