when we suffering from fever why we put thermometer down wards of the tongue .. how it measures the heat of the body ?? guys give me help full answer ..​

i am not sure about it.

but my answer is that because there is salivary gland below our tongue so when we the thermometer down of our tongue it detects the heat of the saliva
