When we use how and what in transformation of assertive to exclamatory?
Answers
Hey there !
Here's your answer …
While converting assertive to exclamatory
rule : How / What a an + 2nd part of sentence + first part + !
the second part starts after the words like : very , so , so much, too, too much, indeed, really, great, highly, extremely, exceedingly , immensely, etc.
Ex. Tibet is very/ extremely cold in winter .
=> How cold Tibet is in winter ( here cold in winter is 2nd part )
NOW COMING TO THE MAIN POINT
HOW TO IDENTIFY WHETHER TO USE HOW OR WHAT …
That's very simple
Just look out for a noun in at the end of sentence or in 2nd part .
If it has a noun then use ' What a /an
If it doesn't then use How
For ex . 1. He was a very famous actor { here the 2nd part has a noun = actor}
therefore the answer is = What a famous actor he was !
2. He was very famous { here there is no noun in the 2nd part }
so the answer will be = How famous he was !
HOPE YOU MIGHT HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO
THANK YOU !
