when we want to measure temperature of boilig water thermometer should be surrounded by it.so won't the glass break??why??

u should use a laboratory thermometer for doing this experiment.....which can show high temperatures without exploding.....but actually u have to keep the thermometer surrounded by the steam which is coming out of boiling water....and not immerse it in the water :)

no it wouldn't because ,glass breaks when we heat it and cool down it suddenly like by putting cold water on it. only by heating it wouldn't break.
