When we write with a wet chalk piece on the blackboard, it does not appear immediately but it becomes brighter after few minutes. What is the reason?

as it is wet first the water comes out with chalk after water evaporates the chalk gets sticked and that is the reason we won't be able to erase the thing written with wet chalk easily....
