When white light crosses the
boundary between air and
glass, it can split up into the
colors of the spectrum.
Explain, in terms of speed, why
the light behaves like this.

Explanation:

This is due to the change in speed of light with wavelength when a white light passes through air to glass(Prism).

" When a white light enter the first surface of a prism , then light of different colour due to their different speed in glass , get deviated through different angle toward the base of prism ".

Note : The splitting of light take place at first surface of prism and on second surface only refraction take place ( from glass to air).

Thank you
