If the acceleration is in the direction of motion or if the acceleration incereases velocity , it will get positive acceleration
If the acceleration is in opposite direction of motion or if the acceleration decreases the velocity , it will get negative acceleration..

Acceleration is +ve when the initial velocity is smaller than final velocity.

other wise it is -ve .


Being a vector quantity when acceleartion is towards the direction of velocityit is +ve as velocity increases .opp to the direction of velociy is considered to be -ve .
