When wind blows over the oceans's surface,
it creates waves. Their size depends on how far, how
fast and how long the wind blows. Particles of water
are pushed down by the wind and they come up
again. This up and down movement is passed from
one particle to another and is visible as a wave. The
highest point the waves reaches is called the crest.
The lowest point is called the trough. The distance​
